Supporting Dance, Youth, and Community on Kaua‘i
Performing Arts For All (PAFA) is the nonprofit partner of Garden Island Dance Academy, created to support dancers, artists, and performing arts programs across Kaua‘i.
PAFA exists to ensure that dance remains accessible, inclusive, and alive — providing scholarships, performances, theater experiences, and community programs for youth and families.
Through PAFA, donations directly support:
- Student scholarships
- Performances and productions
- Visiting artists and teaching opportunities
- Low-cost and free community events, including Theater Day and school performances

Teaching Children the Language of Dance
Founded in 1998 by Jennifer Schwartz, Garden Island Dance Academy has been a cornerstone of dance education on Kaua‘i for over 25 years.
GIDA is committed to teaching children the language of dance and nurturing young talent with patience, discipline, and care.
In a world full of distractions, meaningful dance training takes time, consistency, and support. PAFA allows GIDA to maintain and expand its programs while ensuring that no child is excluded due to financial barriers.

The Nutcracker
Blaisdell Concert Hall, Honolulu
Garden Island Dance Academy families were invited to attend Ballet Hawaii’s production of The Nutcracker through complimentary ticket opportunities. Students experienced professional ballet performed by artists from Ballet Hawaii, New York City Ballet, and other leading companies from across the mainland United States.

Garden Island Dance Academy students performed Nutcracker Jingles alongside more than 40 singers from the Kauai Chorale, creating a memorable collaboration between dance and live choral music.
Every Dancer is A Star 2026
Every Dancer Is A Star
At the War Memorial Convention Hall
Students performed on stage alongside guest artists from the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble in a unique collaboration celebrating dance, community, and artistic excellence.
As part of this event, approximately 1,000 school children from across Kauaʻi attended a free educational performance, ensuring that young people from throughout the island had access to professional performing arts experiences.

Garden Island Dance Academy students Elia, Amaris, Malia, and Clover performed in collaboration with the Kauai Chorale during presentations of Hope and selections from Mamma Mia!, sharing the stage with local musicians and singers.

Hale Halawai, Hanalei
Students of all ages celebrated the joy of movement through ballet, hip hop, contemporary dance, and creative expression in an intimate community performance showcasing the growth and achievements of dancers throughout the year.

They are opportunities for students to work alongside professional artists, collaborate with musicians and community organizations, gain confidence on stage, and experience the power of the performing arts to bring people together.
